A special note from The Heart2Heart Foundation

The Back2School Block Party is about much more than book bags and school supplies. It is about bringing our community together to help children begin the school year feeling prepared, encouraged and supported.

​

Since 2016, The Heart2Heart Foundation has worked alongside local businesses, schools, healthcare providers, nonprofits, civic groups, faith-based organizations and volunteers to connect York County families with valuable programs and services. In one welcoming place, parents can meet organizations offering support related to education, healthcare, early childhood development, mental health, housing, literacy, recreation and other family needs.

This year, thanks to the generous support of Elrod Pope, we will distribute 1,500 book bags filled with school supplies to students in grades K4–12. Families can also take advantage of free health screenings, children’s activities, community resources, giveaways and plenty of back-to-school fun.

There is no preregistration, and the event is completely free. Children must attend with a parent or guardian, and book bags will be distributed one per child on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

We encourage families to come early, visit our community partners, ask questions, participate in the screenings and discover resources that can support their children throughout the school year.

Join us Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to noon at Saluda Trail Middle School in Rock Hill.

This is what community looks like—people coming together not only to help children start school with the supplies they need, but also to remind families that they are supported long after the first day of school.
