Companies, nonprofits, community organizations, churches and individuals donated more than $37,535.00 in book bags, school supplies and gift cards for this year's Back2School Block Party!

SNAPSHOT OF BACK2SCHOOL BLOCK PARTY 2022:

Book bags with school supplies to 3,000 local students through our event and 16 of our Parent Resource Guide bags to 1,000 adults
-
150 adults received free blood pressure checks from Palmetto Community Health with 4 being abnormal and needing follow-up with a doctor
-
83 adults received free pre-diabetes checks from North Central Family Medical Center with 13 being elevated and receiving a referral
-
104 students received free dental checks and 165 free dental kits through Colgate Bright Smiles Bright Futures and A Healthy Smile
-
60 students received free vision screenings from Tega Cay Lions Club
-
400 students received free mini-meal cards through Showmars

Families received free information and giveaways from 30 of our community partners at the event

EVENT NUTRITIONAL STATEMENT:
The Heart2Heart Foundation is committed to creating a healthy environment for those who attend our programs and events. To reinforce this commitment, we have adopted the healthy meeting guidelines developed by the National Alliance for Nutrition and Activity (NANA). These guidelines include offering water and other no-calorie beverages, serving nutritious snacks, providing physical activity breaks for meetings lasting longer than one hour, considering sustainability whenever possible, minimizing sugary treats, and ensuring meetings are held in smoke-free facilities. Creating a culture of health at our meetings and events is an important way to help set a positive example in our community and state.
